For a unique beach experience visit ‘The Tunnels in Ilfracombe, holders of a blue flag and seaside award or Hele Bay to the east of the town also award winners, for good bathing and rock pool exploring.

For the cyclist, there is the popular Tarka Trail which stretches over 30 miles through spectacular scenery. If you need to hire bikes you can do so in Braunton, and from there decide whether you want to go to Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe, or head back towards Woolacombe beach.

North Devon has so much to offer as a place to retire, relax and explore.

The stunning local area has lots of neighboring villages to offer. Visit the quaint villages of Lynton and Lynmouth packed with independent art and gift shops.

If it’s a bit of retail therapy you are looking for head to Atlantic Village or Barnstaple High Street and Green Lanes Shopping Centre for a varied selection of popular shops such as Marks and Spencer and Monsoon.

A 20-minute walk from the park and you will reach Ilfracombe, or you can opt for local transport as there is a bus stop outside the park entrance, offering regular services to Ilfracombe and Barnstaple.

Woolacombe itself is a lively village with great pubs, restaurants and shops. Mortehoe village adjoins Woolacombe and has plenty of restaurants/cafes and provides access to the coastal path.

Tranquility Park is only a 20-minute drive to the famous Exmoor National Park.
